Anna Jeanine Kim
Anna is an independent writer and journalist. She is curious about ecology, wildlife and the impact of colonialism on the relationship between humans, nature and place. In 2023, she received the National Geographic Explorer grant for her work on tidal wetlands. 
In the past, she worked as a breaking news reporter at the Chicago Tribune’s metro desk, a suburban staff writer at the Pioneer Press, and a statewide public safety reporter at the Columbia Missourian. In 2017, her reporting on Missouri's backlog of sexual assault evidence prompted a statewide audit and legislative reform. 
Anna has received awards from Investigative Reporters & Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Illinois Press Association, the Missouri Press Association and others.
